On May 31, the Ellsworth VFW Auxiliary No. 6485 honored several students with VFW honors for the year. These include:

• VFW Voice of Democracy Contest — Noah Erichsen, first, Ellsworth High School; Branson Schulte, second, EHS; Josiah Bolton, third, EHS. Honorable Mention — Hayden Rogers, fourth, EHS.

• VFW Auxiliary Patriot’s Pen — Jesse Schultz, first, Kanopolis Middle School sixth grade student; Cade Gwinner, second, Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School eighth grade student; Henry Kingsbury, third, Wilson Junior High School seventh grade student. Honorable Mention — Charlotte Bettenbrock, fourth, KMS sixth grade student; Christopher Drees, fifth, WJHS eighth grade student.

• VFW Auxiliary Patriotic Art Contest — Jaycee Cunningham, first, EHS; Lydia Mai, second, EHS; Selena Carrazo, third, EHS. Honorable Mention — Erin Zier, fourth, EHS.
