Walking for those on the south border
Pascha Morgan, who grew up being an “Army brat” and has been basically everywhere, has walked approximately 320 miles through Kansas thus far.
He is no stranger to Kansas — his grandfather grew up in Leavenworth, and he still has some family there.
Pascha is on a mission, in the beginning it was to raise awareness to the situation on the border, where people are being detained. He says it has evolved to bring people closer together through love and compassion. He has gained this revelation though his travels. Many people have shown him kindness, complete strangers have offered him food, as well as a place to stay. His mission statement is “I believe in you America!”
Through his travels he has realized that despite people’s political beliefs, most people are very kind in nature. It has increased Pascha’s optimism 10-fold.“My journey has been very enlightening.”
Pascha has never been west of Fort Riley and has been impressed by all the different things he has seen. He stopped at the Eisenhower Center at Abilene, and was impressed. He also commented on the outgoing nature of the people in Chapman. He had a concerned friend that was worried about him since he was a black man travelling through small town Kansas. But he has experienced kindness and a willingness to extend a helping hand.
What’s next? He hopes that by “Continuing his mission of kindness and compassion, the country can accomplish anything.
