Eleanor G. Bach (1929-2024)

Eleanor G. Bach, 94, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Manhattan, Kan. She was born, the youngest of nine children, June 2, 1929, in Ellsworth, Kan., to W.E. and Grace (Allen) Sheridan, who were raised in the Dust Bowl days of Kansas.

She graduated from Ellsworth High School and was a lifelong member in the Presbyterian Church. She was organist for many years at the United Church of Christ, Holyrood, Kan., and First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth. She married Robert E. Schaefer in 1949 and later married Frank Bach in 1965. Her joys in life were her children and grandchildren, her music and sewing.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Ellen Roehrman (Rick), Woodland Park, Colo.; son Jim Bach (Katy), Manhattan; daughter Dianna Vanek (Mike), Kanopolis, Kan.; son Daniel Schaefer (Gayle), Kanopolis; daughters-in-law Vicki Schaefer, Hoyt, Kan.; Deborah Bach, Ellsworth; and Linda Bach, Sumter, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Bach; sons Michael Schaefer, Douglas Bach and Daniel Bach; grandson Kevin Vanek; three great-grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Parsons Funeral Home, with burial following at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
