Elizabeth Joan ‘Betty Jo’ Stroup (1953-2021)

Elizabeth Joan ‘Betty Jo’ Stroup, passed away at her home in Wilson, Kan. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the age of 68. Betty Jo was born to Maurice and Ethel (Eitel) Peirano on April 6, 1953 in Ellsworth, Kan.
Betty Jo grew up in Kansas and Missouri and graduated from Iver C Ranum High School with the class of 1971. She met and married Richard Stroup in 1990 at the Northglenn Christian Church in Northglenn. With this union, Betty gained not only Richard, but his daughters, Susan and Diane.
The couple moved to Festus, Mo. before returning to Wilson in 2000. Betty worked as an executive secretary for oil companies and Bank One. She was quiet and enjoyed time spent with Richard, her dogs, family card games, reading, and fishing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Ethel Peirano; step-father, Jack Kaufman; brothers, Mike and Robert Peirano; and sister, Alice Knox.
Betty Jo is survived by her husband, Richard Stroup of the home in Wilson; step-daughters, Susan (Tim) Roundy of Northglenn, Colo., and Diane (John) Stroup-Heuman of Loveland, Colo.; grandchildren, Shae Roundy, Cycrena Heuman-Eischeid and David Eischeid, Dakota Roundy; sister, Maureen Gerstner, Mo.; sister and brother-in-law Patty and Terry Henry, Colo.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
