Norma (Nora) Jean Krier (1941-2025)

Norma (Nora) Jean Krier, age 83, passed away Jan. 10, 2025, at Ellsworth County Medical Center, surrounded by her five daughters. Norma was born Feb. 26, 1941, to Norman and Catherine Mason in Pittsburg, Kan.
She attended Arkansas City High School where she graduated in 1959. She married Vernon Krier in Great Bend, Kan., and they made their home in Hitschmann, Kan. She moved to Holyrood, Kan., in 2006, where she was an associate at C&V’s Convenient Store for 15 years and enjoyed interacting with the community. In her downtime, she delighted in getting together with friends for coffee and chit chat, reading and attending worship services at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three granddaughters, Lauren Rose Lumpkins, Kendra Warner and Jana Brent.
She is survived by her brother Richard Mason (Jan), Omaha, Neb.; sister Carol Johnson, Wichita, Kan.; daughters Chris Dehart, Clinton, Mo., Lisha Dirks (Ken), Scott City, Kan., Tanya McWithey, Grand Island, Neb., Rhonda Morgan, Lenexa, Kan., and Shanna John, Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Nora will be greatly missed by those who knew her, and those who didn’t missed out.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel, Arkansas City, Kan. Graveside service to follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Arkansas City.
