William Joanis (1949-2021)

William Joanis was called home by our Lord and Savior Dec. 3, 2021, at the age of 72.  Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Copperas Cove, Texas. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery,  Ellsworth,  Kan.  

He was born Aug. 1, 1949, to Hugh and Beatrice Joanis in Two Rivers, Wis. where he was raised and educated. On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Carol Schultz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,  Ellsworth,  Kan.

Mr. Joanis was retired from the U.S. Army as a First Sergeant. He graduated with honors from Central Texas College and the University of Central Texas  in Killeen. He owned and operated Bill’s Stump Grinding and Lawn Care Service for many years.

Mr. Joanis was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lampasas, Texas and the Disabled Veterans of America.
Survivors include his wife, Carol,  Copperas Cove; one son, Jonathan (Joni), Katy, Texas; three grandchildren; and sister, Linn Joanis.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and Kindred Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
