Regarding the Picnic Movie:

Thank you for the wonderful trip down Memory Lane! I was one of the viewers sitting on a tree branch in May of 1955 when the river scene with William Holden and Kim Novak was being filmed along the Saline River.

Regarding the Confederate Flag:

Many thanks to Heather McClendon and her letter regarding the Confederate flag and stating the true facts. A previous article comparing the Confederate flag to the Nazi Swastika is another example of how divided our country has become because of our previous inept leader. It’s tragic that so many White Supremacists groups have adopted the Confederate flag as theirs.

I further believe that that same article, in singling out the prison camp at Andersonville, GA, was slightly incorrect. Yes, while many died there; let’s not forget that many thousands also died in Union prison camps.
