Is the future already a done deal?

I-R USD 112 article 9/12/19

Reading the USD 112 article I thought it was amazing how quickly the Central Plains Middle School building was disposed of, almost so the decision to close the building could not be reversed.

The board vice president’s remarks might lead you to believe the Futures Committee decision is a done deal, namely to bring the entire district into one school. Each community would sacrifice like Bushton has.

Bushton did not volunteer to close their attendance center; Jerry Bieberle and Jacob Charvat voted no on the resolution to close Bushton. I have heard no one from Wilson applauding the decision to close Bushton. A very good job has been done to divide the old USD 328 schools/patrons against one another. What sacrifice will Claflin make?

It’s not hard to imagine the meeting in January with the Futures Committee explaining to the new board that they have met with all communities and the best thing to do is have one school in Claflin.

It was said closing a school is part of a process (ref. Independent Reporter 5/9/19). Could that process include unifying with a neighboring school district, closing all their attendance centers and getting all their tax dollars?
