Bob to the Rescue
This week a pleasant surprise from the Ellsworth County Historical Society and the name “Bob”. A few weeks ago, I had a congenial conversation with an EHS volunteer when I ordered five belt buckles. When I forwarded my check, I requested some information on cemetery maps of Hochman and Kroboth families.“Bob to the rescue!” My son, two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren live in Texas. My daughter is here in Palm Springs, Calif. Needless to say, Ellsworth, Kan., is not on their radar. That belt buckle will be a historical reminder of their heritage. I had memories of the brick Douglas Street and the brown derby (ice cream) downtown — always a treat. Thank you to the Ellsworth County Historical Society and your terrific staff for fulfilling my request. I am so grateful! Vonda Lea Kroboth Weems Cathedral City, Calif.
