Vote yes Aug.1
Dear Editor,
Vote yes for kids to attend the nearest school.
In my opinion, the issue is the 24 miles to Claflin, approximately 20 of those on three county roads. These are county roads, not state roads like K156 and K4 that serve Bushton, Claflin and Holyrood. Most county roads are not the same as state roads; most are built to different specifications, different maintenance, different snow removal.
The kids will probably spend an hour-and-a-half a day on the bus. That’s 155 hours per school year for each kid — not good study time, not time they could be working. This is only for Wilson kids.
Bushton, Claflin and Holyrood are closer together. Claflin to Bushton (is) 8 miles on K4, Claflin to Holyrood (is) 9 miles on K4 and K156.
Vote yes for the teachers and employees.
The receiving districts can hire teachers and employees for the USD 112 buildings they receive and use, and likely for their existing buildings.

Vote yes for the patrons.
Have their tax dollars going to the district that provides the service.
After a given time, residents of a disorganized school district may vote within their assigned district for school board members and bond issues. To me, this is local control.
