Anderson takes 11th at state tennis

PRAIRIE VILLAGE — Ellsworth senior Brendan Anderson took 11th place at the state tennis meet May 10-11.
Ranked No. 9, Anderson began the state competition against the No. 24-ranked Wicks of Marysville. He won the match and moved on to compete against Al-Tabbal of Wichita Collegiate.
Anderson lost that match, but stayed in the consolation bracket. He moved on to play Cheun of Lyons then Adams of Wichita Trinity Academy, winning both matches.
He lost his next match against Leiker of Smokey Valley, but he was guaranteed to place in the top 12. He competed against Doom of Wichita Classical School, losing that match, then competing against Myers of South Barber, which was his final match after four years of playing tennis.
