Ellsworth wrestlers traveled to Phillipsburg Saturday, Feb. 8, for the Panther Classic. Three of the five boys placed in the tournament.

Tyler Romero won one of his matches by fall over Caldada of Ell-Saline. Romero brought home a 2nd place after losing to Sproul of Norton by decision 11-5 in the finals.

Tyler Walford won four of his five matches Saturday. Walford’s wins were by fall. Johnson of Beloit won by decision over Walford 3-2. Walford brought home 3rd place.

Teagon Nienke brought home 4th place winning two out of his four matches. Nienke won by fall over Shepard of Hoxie and Keesee of Phillipsburg. Shields of Norton and McClanahan of Abilene. Both won by fall over Nienke.

Morgan Kelley did not place. Kelley won by fall over Wolf of Minneapolis. Stephenson of Oakley and Urban of Norton won by fall over Kelley.

James Stalnaker also did not place after losing to Unterseher of Norton and Wilson of Abilene both by fall.

The Bearcats travel to Russell today (Thursday, Feb. 13) for league competition.
