The Wilson Dragons kicked off their 2019-20 basketball season with a 39-34 non-conference win Friday night over Otis-Bison. Junior Garrett Theilen led Wilson with 13 point, followed closely by senior Westin Hughes with 12. Theilen also had three blocks. Also scoring were: juniors Camryn Eberhart and Cooper Weinhold, each with 5 points; and senior Charlie Hlad with 4. Wilson travels to Tescott Dec. 9-14 for the Tescott Tournament. The Dragons defeated Tescott 50-34 Monday night. Statistics were not available at press time.

Despite impressive performances by the six members of the Wilson High School girls’ basketball team, the Lady Dragons dropped their first game of the season Friday night to Otis-Bison. The final score was 59 Otis-Bison; 31 Wilson. Macy Hanzlick led Wilson with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, 5 turnovers and one block. Also on the score board were: Cara Criswell with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 turnovers; Grace Bohnen with 6 points, 4 rebounds, one steal and 3 turnovers; and Sakara Jones with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, one steal, 3 turnovers and 4 blocks. Kylee Larsen contributed 2 rebounds and 5 turnovers. Wilson travels to Tescott Dec. 9-14 for the Tescott Tournament. The Lady Dragons also defeated Tescott the first night of the tournament, 32-29.
