The Palco Roosters received a less-thanfriendly reception Tuesday, Dec. 17, as they ventured into non-conference territory at Wilson.

Both Dragon teams defeated Palco with the girls’ game being especially dramatic.

The score bobbed back and forth before the Lady Dragons landed a 3-point win, 39-36.

The boys ended the night with a 53-43 win.

Here are the stats for the boys:

Junior Cooper Weinhold led the Dragons in scoring with 13 points. He also added 10 rebounds to the Wilson effort.

He was followed by junior Camryn Eberhart with 11 points. He also had 10 rebounds.

Senior Westin Hughes had 10 points 3 rebounds; senior Charlie Hlad, 6 points and 3 rebounds; and freshman M. Eberhart, 2 points and 5 rebounds.

The Dragons led the Roosters throughout the game, besting Palco 14-10 in the first quarter, 12 to 11 in the second quarter and 18 to 11 in the third quarter.

Palco outscored Wilson in the fourth quarter, but by only 2 points, 11-9.

Statistics on the girls’ side were not available by press time, which was early because of Christmas.

However, the quarterly breakdown shows how close the game was. Palco slipped by Wilson 9 to 7 in the first quarter and 7 to 6 in the second quarter. The Lady Dragons took charge in the second half, going 12 to 10 in the third quarter and 14 to 10 in the fourth quarter.

Wilson had a home conference game Friday against Lincoln before students were dismissed for Christmas break.
