Oiler tennis takes top spot

The Central Plains Oilers’ No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles teams placed first April 18 to help the Oilers win the Hoisington tennis quad tournament.

The No. 1 team of Brett Liebl-Devin Ryan defeated WaKeeney-Trego’s Clay Burk-Dylan Johnson, 8-0 for first place. The No. 2 team of Paxton Hammeke and Lawson Oeser defeated Scott City’s Victor Martinez-Blake Koehn, 8-3.

Central Plains’ No. 1 singles player JJ Heredia was defeated 8-7, 8-6 in a tiebreaker for first. The Oilers’ No. 2 singles player Karter Beck lost to Scott City’s Chris Wright for first place.
