PLAINVILLE — The Ellsworth High School Lady ‘Cats softball team easily defeated the Plainville Cardinals Friday during a double-header.

Ellsworth made quick work of Plainville in the first game, defeating the Cardinals 12-4. In the second game, the score was much closer, but again Ellsworth came out on top, winning 9-7.

Ellsworth got things started in the first inning when Sierra Kraatz hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs. The Lady ‘Cats would go on to score single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings and two in the sixth. With the score 7-4 Ellsworth by the end of the sixth inning, the Bearcats scored five more runs to the seal the win.
