Lady Oilers dominate Wheatland State competition is next

The Lady Oilers played Wheatland/Grinnell at Russell for the sub-state championship game and won solidly by a whopping 82-22 score.

Emily Ryan led the Lady Oilers with the most points on the score board with 30. Ryan also had 8 assists, 3 defensive rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal. Ryan was in the game for 17 minutes and 5 seconds.

Kassidy Nixon played for 13 minutes and 43 seconds and scored 10 points for the Lady Oilers. She also had 5 assists, 3 total rebounds and 5 steals.

Addison Crites scored 9 points in her 14 minutes and 54 seconds of play time. Crites also had 2 assists, 5 total rebounds, 1 block and 2 steals.

Lexi Oeser scored 8 points for the team. Oeser was on the court for 18 minutes and 19 seconds and made 3 steals and 2 assists.

Jennah Jeffrey and Brynna Hammeke both scored 7 points. Jeffrey kept the ball in the Lady Oilers’ hands with three defensive rebounds. Jeffrey also had two assists and had 8 minutes and 16 seconds of time on the court.

Hammeke also had one offensive and defensive rebound and four steals and played for 16 minutes and 42 seconds.

Zoe Potter scored six points for the Lady Oilers during her 12 minutes and 4 seconds of time on the court. Potter also had six rebounds.

Delaney Rugan was on the court for 13 minutes and 32 seconds and kept her numbers even with four points, two assists, two defensive rebounds, two fouls, and twp steals.

Callie Zink played just one second shy of 10 minutes and scored one point. Zink also had 1 defensive and one offensive rebound.

The Lady Oilers begin state play against the Ingalls Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. today (Thursday, March 12) in Dodge City at the United Wireless Arena. The winner of the Central Plains-Ingalls game will play the winner of the Otis-Bison and Hanover game in the state championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14. The Lady Oiler’s have beaten OtisBison twice during the regular season.
