The Central Plains High School Oilers Football Team tasted defeat during their first outing of the season Sept. 2. They fell 26-8 at Ness City to the Eagles.

Ness City held the Oilers scoreless for three quarters.

Central Plains had four penalties in the game costing the team 30 yards. The Oilers also had two interceptions, two fumbles just three passing completions for just 19 yards.

Central Plains also had 96 rushing yards and seven first downs.

Next up for the Oilers is a 7 p.m. home game in Claflin against Macksville.
