Oilers skunked by Little River 48-0
CLAFLIN — It wasn’t the homecoming the Central Plains High School Oilers football team wished for. On the contrary, rather than a big Homecoming victory against Little River, the Oilers were crushed 48-0.
In the air, the Oilers were just two for eight for a total of just eight yards.
On the ground, the story wasn’t much better for Central Plains. The Oilers carried 26 times for just 67 yards. The longest run for Central Plains was a nine yard scamper.
In the receiving department, the Oilers had just two receptions for eight yards, with a total of 75 yards as a team against the Indians.
Defensively, Central Plains had 25 solo and 17 assisted tackles, led by Michael Laymon and William Laymon each with five unassisted tackles. Karter Beck followed closely behind with four unassisted tackles.
The next action for the 1-3 Oilers is at 7 p.m. Friday in an away game against St. John.
