Girls tame Lions, take double loss at Russell

The Bearcat varsity volleyball team took two victories against the Minneapolis Lions Sept. 26 Playing one of their best nights of the season, the team was aggressive, quick and did not give up, winning the first set 25-19.

The Cats capitalized on the Lions’ weaknesses and maintained the lead in the second set, winning 25-20.

The Lions brought the competition in the second match. The Cats won the first set 25-21, but the second set was a battle, with the Cats eventually taking the win, 32-30.

While the team had a successful night against the Lions, things did not go the same against Russell and St. John Sept.

The Bearcats won the first set 25-23, but lost the next two 25-23 and 25-17.

In the next match against the Russell Broncos, the Cats were unable to bounce back from the previous loss. The Broncos finished on top, winning the first set 27-25 and the second 25-21.

The team competes at home Oct. 5.
