Wilson girls win; boys drop close game

Wilson’s Lady Dragons placed a game in the win column Friday, Dec. 20, with a 27-16 score over Lincoln at home.

Macy Hanzlick scored 11 points for the team. Wilson had a 2 point lead after the first quarter with a score of 6-4. Gaining 7 more points by the end of the first half left a half time score of 13-4. The Lady Dragons continued to stay ahead with a 16-7 score at the end of the third.

Wilson boys lost Friday night’s home game against the Lincoln Leopards by 6 points, 49-43, in a close game.

In the first quarter the boys were only down by 1 point with a 10-9 score. Wilson scored 13 points in the second quarter.

In the final quarter of the game Wilson put 12 points on the board, 4 more than Lincoln.

Junior Garrett Theilen brought 15 points to the score board followed by senior Westin Hughes, 11; senior Charlie Hlad and junior Cooper Weinhold, 6; junior Camryn Eberhart, 3; and junior Dylan Crawford, 2.

Eberhart, Weinhold, Hughes, and Theilen all had 3 fouls.

Hughes, Hlad, and Eberhart all shot 3 pointers, Westin Hughes had the most of those shots with 3 made.

Cooper Weinhold had the most rebounds for the team with 12 followed by Theilen, 10; Hughes and Hlad, 4; Eberhart, 2; N. Crawford, M. Eberhart, and D. Crawford all with one rebound each.

Wilson returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 7, against Natoma at home.
