The Ellsworth VFW Post 6485 and Ellsworth American Legion Post 174 serve a Veterans Day soup lunch for a free will donation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VFW post home, 1006 West 12th Street. Menu includes ham and beans with cornbread, vegetable beef, chicken noodle and chili soup and desert. At 2:30 p.m., the VFW and American Legion present a Veterans Day program on the steps of the Ellsworth County Courthouse. All veterans and community members are invited to both events.
• The Wilson American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary serves lunch at 11 a.m. at the post home in Wilson.  Bingo and card games will be played at 1 p.m. A prize drawing will take place at 6 p.m.
• The Holyrood American Legion Post 200 serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and hosts Bingo from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Holyrood Fire Department. All proceeds go to the American Legion Post 200 New Building Project.
