4-H Club Day is Sunday at Wilson
The 2020 Midway District 4-H Club Day will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Wilson High School.
Top placing entries selected by judges will become eligible to participate Friday, March 13, in the regional competition in Great Bend..
4-H Club Day includes a variety of events for participation by 4-H members. The speaking presentations include project talks, demonstrations, illustrated talks, extemporaneous speaking, public speaking and show & tell for Cloverbuds. Public presentations are a great way for youth to achieve and practice the basic life skills of developing self-confidence, sound decision making and effective communication.
In addition to speaking presentations, there are vocal entries, piano solos, instrumental entries, and various talent numbers. Talent entries include a skit, club skit, dance, and reading. The talent portion provides a great opportunity for youth to gain self-confidence in their respective talent and exercise their creative skills.
The Midway District is home to 10 4-H clubs: Ash Creek, Big Creek, County Liners, Elkhorn, Fossil Creek, Lone Star, Sunflower, Trying Tommies, Wilson Winners and Wolf Creek Valley. All clubs will be represented at the 4-H Club Day with presentations by members.
The Life Skills Judging Contest will also be open all to 4-H members throughout the day focusing on sound decision making.
The public is encouraged to attend part or all of the afternoon’s activities! Events take place concurrently in various rooms of Wilson High. Call your local Extension Office, (785) 472-4442, if you have any further questions or would like a schedule for the day.
