HOLYROOD — Polka music will once again return to the American Legion Hall in Holyrood.

Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen will play at the first dance in the new legion hall from 2-5 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 22.

The original legion building, which was a skating rink before it became home to the legion, was famous for its polka dances. It was severely damaged in a spring 2019 storm, and delays plagued the reconstruction efforts.

The building finally reopened for Memorial Day 2022.

Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen, headquartered in Iowa, have typically played a dance there every January.
