Wilson Bridge change order approved

At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission, a change order in the amount of $32,063 was approved regarding the construction of the Wilson Bridge.

According to Jon Halbgewachs of Kirkham Michael, the change order was necessary to drill the holes for the bridge pilings deeper because testing indicated the rock is harder than first thought and drilling was necessary to reach the required depth for the pilings.

In other business:

• Approval was given to the Ellsworth County Road and Bridge Department to purchase a certified preowned Xerox copier in the amount of $4,500 from Image Quest. The copier will replace an older model.

• Commissioners met again with Lori Miller of Heartland Retirement and Benefits to discuss county employees’ health insurance renewals.

Then next meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the county courthouse.
