Agriculture producers have faced significant challenges in recent years, including market uncertainties, natural disasters, ongoing trade wars and other setbacks. These issues weigh heavily on farm families and can take a toll that leads to mental and emotional distress, substance abuse, anxiety, depression and even suicide.

Most recently, the Kansas Department of Agriculture unveiled a new website to provide resources and support to those dealing with ag-related stress. The website can be found at KansasAgStress.org. Kansas Farm Bureau earlier this year published a resource page, https://www.kfb.org/Article/Mental-Health-Resources, including data from an American Farm Bureau Federation Rural Stress Poll. And last year, USDA teamed up with Michigan State University to create a pilot farm stress training program for FSA employees nationwide.
