Grain prices mostly up for the week

Prices paid for grain at the Ellsworth Co-op at the end of the business day, Monday, May 11, were:

Wheat, bu. — $4.40 down 12 cents from May 4.

Milo, bu. — $3.39, up 3 cents.

Soybeans, bu. — $7.55, up 19 cents. Corn, bu. — $2.84, up 3 cents.

Corn, bu. — $2.84, up 3 cents.

The co-op has locations in Ellsworth, Black Wolf, Farhman, Hitschmann, Holyrood and Kanopolis.

Gas prices on rise

Kansas gas prices increased 4.4 cents per gallon in the week ending Monday, May 11, averaging $1.52/g, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,329 stations. Gas prices in Kansas are 11.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 109.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Kansas was priced at $1.17/g Monday while the most expensive was $1.99/g, a difference of 82.0 cents per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 6.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.83/g.
