Bus buy is main item of business
Members of the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo School Board took no action Monday night following an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel, specifically the superintendent’s position.
At the district’s regular board meeting earlier this month, board members placed Josh Lanning on administrative leave. He started with USD 327 this past summer, following the resignation of Dale Brungardt, who accepted a job in Topeka.
In other business:
• The board approved a bid of $83,650 for a 2019 83-passenger bus. The vehicle is expected to be available July 30 from Coachmaster, which has provided USD 327 with its last four buses. The action followed a recommendation by interim transportation director Eugene Ranker. Money for the bus will come from the district’s capital outlay fund.
• Board members also approved hand rails in the seating area of the Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School. Cost is $7,758. The district didn’t have to seek bids, but went ahead to see what was available.
