COUNTY BUSINESS: Ellsworth County commissioners meet at 9 a.m. in the courthouse meeting room. CITY BUSINESS: The Wilson City Council meets at 7 p.m. at city hall. MAKE AND TAKE: The J.H. Robbins Memorial Library hosts a Very Merry Christmas day from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. to make Christmas cards and/or Christmas tags with napkins. Bring a clothes iron. Information: (785) 472-3969. ELLSWORTH CHRISTMAS: Jingle and Mingle is from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with walking tacos available, entertainment and a nativity scene at the United Methodist Church. VISIT WITH SANTA: The Wilson Chamber of Commerce hosts a Visit with Santa event from 1-2 p.m. at the Wilson Care and Rehabilitation Center. Children can get their pictures taken with Santa Claus and treats will be available. ANOTHER STOP: An Afternoon with Santa is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fort Harker Guardhouse Museum in Kanopolis.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8
HOLIDAY MEAL: Wilson’s United Methodist Church serves a “Grinch” dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for a free will donation. On the menu are beef or chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and desserts. FOR WOMEN ONLY: The Scorched Stone Farm conducts its third annual ladies night out Christmas event from 2 to 4 p.m. at the farm near Holyrood. The $50 fee includes a Grinch Tree Workshop. Reservations due by Dec. 2.

CITY BUSINESS: The Ellsworth City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at the 900 Room at the Ellsworth Golf Course. SCHOOL BUSINESS: The Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 board of education meets at 7 p.m. at the district office.

CITY BUSINESS: A meet and greet for the new and outgoing members of the Kanopolis City Council begins at 6:30 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. council meeting at city hall.

COME VISIT SANTA: The Mom’s of Lorraine and the First Baptist Church of Lorraine sponsor a Children’s Christmas Party at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Lorraine Baptist Church. Santa Claus will be available to visit with children. Refreshments and cookies will be served. Everyone invited to attend.

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE: First Bank Kansas conducts a Christmas Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Treats and fun. CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE: Citizens State Bank and Trust Company Inc. hosts a Christmas Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the bank in downtown Ellsworth. Santa arrives at 3 p.m. to visit with children.

KANSAS CHRISTMAS: Kansas Originals Market & Gallery celebrates the holiday season with an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its store north of Wilson. Drawings for more than $1,600 worth of prizes.
