There were no surprises during Monday’s official canvass by the Ellsworth County commissioners of votes cast during the Nov. 5 general election.

According to Ellsworth County Clerk Shelly Vopat, 30 percent of the 4,160 eligible voters in the county voted. Out of 23 provisional ballots cast, only 11 counted. The rest were denied by the county commissioners because they were not signed or because there was something wrong with the voter’s registration.

Here are the final tallies:

• Ellsworth City Council (Top 3) — Darcy Hansen, 270; Michael Hunt, 60; Jessica Kootz, 336; Wayne Scritchfield, 288.

• Holyrood Mayor — Brandon Koch, 129.

• Holyrood City Council (Top 2) — Tanner Dahlke, 100; Allison Koch, 98.

• Kanopolis Mayor — Anthony Hopkins, 73.

• Kanopolis City Council (Top 3) — Matthew Munoz, 71; Patrick Perez, 44; Michelle Schwedtfeger, 69.

• Lorraine Mayor — Vernon Donbraska, 6; Joe Togersen, 13; Kimberly Travnichek, 16.

• Lorraine City Council (Top 3) — Cassandra Vedder, 38; Barbara Crombie, 21; Kendall Meier, 16.

• Wilson Mayor — Ron Bouska, 13; Michael Peschka, 178; Larry Ptacek, 58; Jessica Loveland (Write-in), 40.
