Commissioners briefed on fair plans

By
The I-r Staff

Marcia Gier, 4-H youth development agent for the Midway Extension District, gave a few more details of this year’s Ellsworth County 4-H Fair Monday at the weekly meeting of the county commissioners.

Gier said the plan is to keep the fair as low key as possible. Options are being considered for the fashion revue, and the only open class will be the tag alongs. There will no food stands, public barbecue or Parade of Champions. Entries will be brought in at a specific time, judged, then taken home. The traditional fair auction will be conducted on line this year.

Gier said fair officials can’t keep changing the plan for the fair because people need to plan for it. It is scheduled for July 18-24. The next meeting of the Ellsworth County commissioners is at 9 a.m. Monday, June 15, at the county courthouse.
