Commissioners cut short telephone/ internet service conference call

By
Alan Rusch Ellsworth County I-R

At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth County commissioners, representatives from Granite LLC talked via conference call with the commissioners about the possible cost savings on telephone and internet services.

Since the county recently signed a fiveyear contract with H&B Communications of Holyrood, however, it was a short phone call.

“I think we’re set up pretty well right now,” Commissioner Kermit Rush said.

In other business:

• Commissioners signed the annual eradication report as presented by Teresa Shute, supervisor of the county noxious weed department.

• Commissioners met with Jes Pfannenstiel, loss prevention specialist with KWORCC, the Kansas Workers Risk Cooperative for Counties, which is the county’s workman’s compensation insurance carrier.

The next meeting of the Ellsworth County commissioners will be at 9 a.m. Monday, March 9, at the county courthouse.
