Commissioners meet with county department heads

By

At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth County commissioners, the county department heads gave updates on their activities.
EMS Director Nathan Florian said everything was going good at EMS except for a leak in the headquarter’s roof which needs to be repaired. He thought, however, the roof should still be under warranty.
Commission Chairman Greg Bender reminded the department heads that the annual budget hearing is coming up and it will be a rather tight year.
Noxious Weed, Landfill and Recycling Program Director Teresa Shute asked how the changes to the county employee handbook were progressing. That answer, however, remains unknown.
In other business:
• Lori Miller of Heartland Retirement and Benefits Consulting conducted her six month review of the county employee health benefits.
The next meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the county courthouse.
