LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT/FAILURE TO MAINTAIN A SINGLE LANE OF TRAFFIC — State of Kansas vs. Lon White. White pleaded guilty to both counts. He was ordered to pay a $108 docket fee, a $250 fine for count one, and a $75 fine for count two.

NON-INJURY ACCIDENTS — At 2:12 p.m. Aug. 2, Myra J. Long, 76, Ellsworth, was driving west on K-140 Highway in a 2010 Cadillac SRX. At milepost 10.3, she hit a deer. No injuries were reported.

At 7:19 p.m. Aug. 4, Jared Young, 28, Springfield, Mo., was driving west on Interstate 70 in a 2006 Saturn. Near K232 Highway, he went off the road into the median, over-corrected, came back on the road, went into a broad slide, entered the north ditch and overturned. Neither Young nor his passenger, Gary L. Zumalt, 24, Springfield, Mo., were injured.

At 8:18 p.m. Aug. 7, Tanner W. Christensen, 30, Overland Park, was driving west on Interstate 70 in a 2015 Ford Fusion. At milepost 211.6, he hit a deer. Neither Christensen nor his passenger, Sarah E. Christensen, 27, Overland Park, were injured.

At 4:35 p.m. Aug. 11, Caleb B. Kruse, 31, Lorraine, was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck on K-156 Highway. Just east of 13th Road, Kruse slowed, waiting to turn, when he was hit by Kimberly S. Prosser, 38, Claflin, driving a 2014 Mazda CX5. Prosser was cited for following another vehicle too closely.

At 6:48 a.m. Aug. 18, Ellen Kempke, 61, Kanopolis, was driving north on K-111 Highway in a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Just south of K-140 Highway, she hit a deer. No injuries were reported.

CIVIL DISTURBANCE — On July 31, deputies responded to 437 Main Street in Lorraine for a civil disturbance. The victim was a 56 year-old Lorraine woman. No arrests were made.

BURGLARY — Between July 27 and Aug. 1, Ernie E. Heart of Wilson was the victim of a burglary at 615 Old Highway 40 in Wilson. Taken were a 1988 Chevrolet pickup, a Kansas registration, a Campbell Hausfeld air compressor and two Skillsaws. Total loss is $1,530. There are no suspects and no arrests have been made.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY — Between July 31 and Aug. 1, Michael D. Ptacek of Brookville was the victim of criminal damage to property at 1016 McManes Ave. in Brookville. Damaged was a homemade vehicle rear-end mailbox. Total loss was $25. There are no suspects and no arrests have been made.

Between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15, David M. Koralek Sr. of Ellsworth was the victim of criminal damage to property at 105 E. North Main, Ellsworth. Damaged was 10 building windows valued at $2,000. There are so suspects and no arrests have been made.

On Aug. 17, David M. Koralek Sr. of Ellsworth was the victim of criminal damage to property at 156 North Kansas Ave. in Ellsworth. Damaged was two building windows valued at $1,000. There are no suspects and no arrests have been made.

DOG SNIFF — On Aug. 4, the K-9 Unit responded to a request by the Kansas Highway Patrol for a dog sniff at milepost 162.5 on K-14 Highway in Ellsworth County.

IMPROPER DRIVING ON LANED ROADWAY/TRANSPORTING AN OPEN CONTAINER — On Aug. 11, deputies investigated a report involving improper driving on a laned roadway and transporting an open container at milepost 158 on K-156 Highway. One arrest was made. The case has been forwarded to the Ellsworth County attorney.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Aug. 9, Ronald K. Rathbun of Ellsworth was the victim of disorderly conduct at 1156 K-14 Highway in Ellsworth. There is a suspect in the case. A report has been forwarded to the Ellsworth County attorney.

FOUND PROPERTY — On Aug. 18, a wallet, 10 membership cards, a Social Security card and three credit cards were found and returned to the owner, Christy A. Wright of Kanopolis.

ROADS AND BRIDGES, JUNKYARD AND DAMAGE CONTROL ACT — On Aug. 7, deputies investigated a report of junk being in a controlled area in Section 7-14-10 in Wilson Township. There is a suspect in the case, but no arrests have been made. A report has been forwarded to the Ellsworth County attorney.
