Dirt and spurs will be flying this Friday and Saturday as the annual El-Kan Western Riders Rodeo takes place at the rodeo arena south of Ellsworth.

Friday’s fun kicks off with mutton busting at 7 p.m. The cost to participate is $10 with a 65-pound weight limit. At 8 p.m., rodeo action begins, with a beer garden and concessions available.

Saturday, the rodeo continues with team goat roping from 1:30-5:30 p.m. for $20 per team. Pony rides will be given to kids age 6 and under from 4-6 p.m. Rides are free with an adult rodeo ticket.
