With bitterly cold temperatures and sub-zero wind chills expected today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) in Central Kansas along with high winds, residents should be aware that power outages are a possibility. Ellsworth — The City of Ellsworth has an emergency disaster shelter for tornadoes, etc. at city hall, however, it is not a warming shelter. Call Ellsworth City Hall, (785) 472-5566, for information.
Wilson — The Wilson Senior Center is the emergency shelter in Wilson if electrical power

is out for an period of time. Call Wilson City Hall, (785) 658-2272, for information.
Kanopolis — The emergency shelters in Kanopolis are located at the First Methodist Church and St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Call Kanopolis City Hall, (785) 472-4732, for information.
Lorraine — The emergency shelter in Lorraine is located on Main Street next to Lorraine City Hall.

Holyrood — The emergency shelter in Holyrood is located at either the old city office or the  Fire Department.
