A 63-year-old Ellsworth woman was killed April 1, in a one-vehicle accident south of Wilson.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 6:25 a.m. April 1, Janice A. Perkins was driving north on 105th Road in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. For unknown reasons, at Ave. M, the Jeep went off the road to the east. Perkins over-corrected, and the Jeep slid sideways into the east ditch and rolled, ejecting Perkins in the process. The Jeep then rolled up an embankment, went through a wire fence at came to rest upright in a pasture.

Perkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
