Grow Ellsworth County hires assistant director

By

Grow Ellsworth County is growing.

During the Monday meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission, Grow Ellsworth County Executive Director Stacie Schmidt introduced the organization’s new assistant director, Kayla Timms.

Timms, previously an executive administrative assistant to the CEO and board of directors at Ellsworth County Medical Center, began Monday.

“As a newly-merged organization now trying to fill the services of the previous Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, Grow Ellsworth County was seeking the right turnkey candidate who could build on our membership base, create relationships and listen and act upon what our businesses need and want from their investment,” Schmidt said. “We feel confident that Kayla will help us build a robust and engaging level of services and help Grow Ellsworth County extend its hand further into the community. We are excited to bring Kayla on board, and know that she will bring energy and enhancement to the organization.”

Timms was hired following a series of outreach efforts and a panel interview selection process. Her background also includes sales, public relations and fundraising.

“This opportunity is exciting to me because I believe I can really make a difference in this community,” Timms said. “I want to have a positive impact and make a difference. I am ready to get started and help elevate Ellsworth County to the next level.”

A meet-and-greet from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, is scheduled at the Grow Ellsworth County offices at 107 W. 2nd St.

Timms is available immediately for business membership appointments.
