News from cover-to-cover

Everything seems to be going well here. The weather has even been beautiful. So, we have no complaints here at the library. Ok, maybe I spoke to soon. It would be better if we saw you all a little more often. Maybe if I tell you what all is going on here at the library, you will come so we can get to see you. OK, here we go.

Mondays we have a program going called “Reset.” Our goal is to become healthier through movement, eating habits, hydration, lowering stress and gratitude. That starts at 5:30 p.m. Storytime is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We show a movie on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. and we are also showing movies every other Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

We have popcorn and water available and a list of the movies that we are showing at the library if you would like to pick up a list.

I’m sorry, but according to the movie licensing, I cannot put the titles out in the public, but I can in the library, so come and get a list and share it with others.

The first Thursday of the month we have the Geezer Book Club and the third Thursday we have another book club. Both start at 10:30 a.m. All of these events have just recently started, so please don’t feel like you have missed anything and shouldn’t come. We would love to see you and we welcome all.

Hard to believe, but with the holidays coming, we will be planning events that we should have information out for soon. If there is anything special you would like to see us do, please let us know.

Oh, one thought. We are hoping to give a try this year is a Christmas sing-along on Saturday, Dec. 3. We have not set a time or anything else yet because it is in the planning stages, but if you are interested and would like to let us know what your favorite Christmas songs are, please come tell us.

We are trying to get a calendar out with all of the events, so please stop by and pick one up. We could also email one to you if you would like us to. Just give us a call at (785) 472-3969.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Dorothy Thomas for leaving us a generous donation from her estate. We would also like to thank family and others who made memorials to the library on behalf of Barbara Smischny. These funds will be put into our wish list fund that is being used to make improvements to the library that will benefit the community. We appreciate all of the contributions and we hope to use them in a way that would make Dorothy and Barbara proud. They were both wonderful ladies.

Thank you.

It is so hard to believe that we are in the middle of October of another year that is almost over.

Where does the time go? We all need to take a little time for ourselves and enjoy the time we have.

Maybe one of our programs will be just what you are looking for, or maybe just a DVD or a good book is more your speed.

Whatever it takes for you to enjoy some “me time,” we hope you find it. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and…. happy reading.
