Wow, school is back and we are heading into fall. Can you believe it? I don’t know if it was the same for you, but when I was a kid, time went so slowly. Don’t blink or the year will be gone.

So, make the most of the time you have. How can you do that? One way is to come to the library, of course.

We have books, games, puzzles or magazines that you can come sit and enjoy. We have a nice seating area for you to enjoy, and will soon have another available as well. We are still in construction, but it is coming along beautifully. Those of us who work here really enjoy the area, and it’s not even done yet. We are getting a little tired of trying to remember where we put things, but that comes with change.

Please come in and wish Susan farewell. Sadly, we will be losing her at the end of this month, but we wish her all the best. She will be greatly missed!

During this transition, Kerstie will be taking over Susan’s responsibilities as well as the cataloging. I know this is a good fit for her and she is doing a great job, but that leaves us needing a youth coordinator who will do Reading University with the littles and then get activities and events up and going for children of all ages, tweens and teens. It’s an exciting time, and I’m looking forward to really getting the kids’ department up and going again. We have an ad out for this position, so if you know of anyone interested, have them bring a cover letter, resume and three references to the library or email it to us at jhrobbins2018@gmail.com before Aug. 24.

After finally getting the upgrades in the library we have been planning for the last several years, we learned the windows in the office are rotting. After an inspection of all windows, we are now trying to figure out how to pay to have most of the windows replaced. Not at all good news, but what do you do? You take care of the beautiful library we have so it stays that way, that’s what you do. But even with news like that, I still encourage you to come check out a good book and happy reading!
