News from cover to cover
Well November is almost gone. Think about it — the year is coming to an end, but don’t think about it too long or you will quickly realize that Christmas is really, really close. Aaaagh!
Ok on to other things. Just a reminder — we have Ancestry.com! Be watching in the New Year for a time you can come in and play and get help if you need it. We will be putting together a program that will help people like me get up, going and knowledgeable.
We are having a “Very Merry Christmas” day at the library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. We will be making Christmas cards and/or Christmas tags with napkins. Intrigued? Come and bring a clothes iron if you have one, that’s all you need to bring. We will have some on display next week if you would like to see what we are talking about. This is come and go so come and have something hot to drink and enjoy each other’s company while being crafty.
If you missed learning computer skills on the Goodwill bus you missed a really good thing. We learned a lot about basics, Google apps and social media. Our instructor did a great job of going with the flow on what our group was interested in learning at the time. We hope to bring the bus back sometime in the beginning of the year so let me know if you are interested in getting on the list.
Our Harvest Feast Recipe Club is today (Thursday, Nov. 21). Last month we had all desserts but one. Everything was great but it was a lot of sugar! That’s the fun of a recipe club, you never know what you are going to get. We are not having a Recipe Club in December, instead we are having a cookie exchange. Bring in two dozen cookies (and the recipe to share) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. and the staff will swap them with two dozen assorted cookies. You will be able to pick them up between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.
If you also bring a non-perishable food item when you pick up your cookies, we will make a donation to the food bank. It’s always more rewarding to give then to receive. Please spread the news, the more the merrier.
The Page Turners Book Club is taking a break for Christmas and will meet again Sunday, Jan. 19. We will be reading “This Life I Live” by Rory Lee Feek. We would love to have you join us in the New Year.
The Last Wednesday Walk is also taking a break for now (it’s to cold for me to walk the park). We are looking at some new ideas for our walks so you might keep your eye out for that.
Wednesday, Dec. 4 will be our last “Featured Film” of the year. Come watch a Christmas movie, have some popcorn and enjoy spending time with other people where it is warm, toasty and Christmassy. What more could you ask for? Give us a call if you would like to know what we are showing.
We are in the middle of planning for our activities for next year — if you have any ideas let us know. We are always interested in learning what you are interested in.
With that I wish you a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving and remember ...“Be kind, be thoughtful, be genuine but most of all be thankful”.
And of course “Happy Reading!”
