New year delivers transitions on local boards and councils

With the start of 2022, there are new (and familiar) faces on city councils, school boards and other Ellsworth County organizations. The elected officials are the result of elections this past November:

City of Ellsworth

Dan Finnegan, mayor. Aaron Johnson and Tyler Renard, council members.

City of Holyrood

Sharon Smith, Kenny Gieselman and Pat Siemsen, council members.

City of Kanopolis

Anthony Hopkins, mayor.

Rebekah Tripp, Tom Wilkinson, Jim Zvolanek and Greg Tripp, council members.

City of Lorraine

James Homolka, Kash Travnichek and Peter Solie, council members.

City of Wilson

Michael Peschka, mayor.

Jeffery Keith and Daniel Taylor, council members.

Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327

David Hand, board member, reelected to the District 1, Position 4, seat.

Brian Rush, board member, elected to the District 3, Position 3, seat held by Peggy Svaty.

Jacob Svaty, board member, elected to the District 3, Position 6, seat held by Elizabeth Donley.

(Peggy Svaty and Elizabeth Donley did not file for re-election.)

Central Plains USD 112

Roger Robinson, board member, elected to the Position 2 seat held by Jacob Charvat.

Allison Koch, board member, elected to the Position 4 seat held by Tami Schepmann.

Dalton Wirth, board member, elected to the Position 6 seat held by Tony Zink.

(Charvat, Schepmann and Zink did not file for re-election.)

Midway Extension District

Julie Nienke and Gunnar Hays, board members.

Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce
