Kansas Sen. Richard Wilborn, R-McPherson, and Rep. Steven Johnson, R-Assaria, plan to be in Ellsworth County Feb. 22 to update constituents on developments in the Kansas Legislature.

The two will start the day with an 8 a.m. session at Grandma’s Soda Shop in Wilson.

They plan to be in Ellsworth at 9:30 a.m. at the Ellsworth Steak House. The Ellsworth meeting is sponsored by the Ellsworth County Independent-Reporter and the local Kansas Farm Bureau Association.

The public is welcome to attend both meetings.

This year’s session of the Kansas Legislature has focused on several major issues, including expansion of the state’s Medicaid program and passage of a proposed constitutional amendment to ban abortions. The proposed amendment passed the Senate but failed by a narrow margin in the Kansas House.
