Rolling Hills Electric cancels annual meeting

By

Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative, Inc. regrets that it has to cancel the annual meeting scheduled for Friday, April 17. This was due to the recommendations by the State of Kansas and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to limit exposure to the pandemic COVID-19.

Over the past 1.5 years, Rolling Hills Electric trustees and board attorney have worked diligently to update the wording of the cooperative’s bylaws. The bylaws are a contract between the members and Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative, Inc. The revised bylaws and ballot were enclosed with the annual meeting packet.

The packets were prepared to be sealed and postmarked when the cooperative was advised of the CDC and Kansas Governor’s order. The trustees convened and approved canceling the annual meeting. Thereafter, the trustees approved continuing with the important bylaw vote. Immediate preparations were made to insert an “Important Notice to Members” for the cancellation of the annual meeting and change in the bylaw question voting process. The packets were mailed on schedule.

Cooperative members can register their voice by marking, certifying and returning their ballot whether the cooperative should update, amend and fully restate its bylaws. An enormous amount of time and expense has gone into this lengthy process and we want to hear from our members. The due date for ballots to be postmarked or received is Friday, April 17. Ballots may also be placed in night drops at Ellsworth, Beloit, Mankato or Belleville. We look forward to receiving your ballot.
