Several years ago, more than 300 Ellsworth County residents dug through several inches of snow to attend the I-R’s annual Cash Giveaway in the gymnasium at Ellsworth City Hall.

By popular demand we’re bringing back the promotion that was popular with both advertisers and readers.

Here’s the plan:

Starting the day after Thanksgiving, participating retailers will give customers a ticket for every $10 in merchandise. Other businesses with larger ticket items also will give tickets; however, they will make the decision on how many, depending on the sale.

Retail participants F&M Drug LLC, Robson’s Card & Gift Shop, Ampride, Gene’s Heartland Food and Nex-Tech Wireless.

Also participating are H&B Communications of Holyrood, Citizens State Bank & Trust and KanEquip.

The drawing will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 21 in downtown Ellsworth. Prizes will be 10, $50 bills and a $500 cash grand prize. You must be present to win.
