Local students earn honors

More than 6,100 undergraduate students, including four from Ellsworth County, earned honor roll distinction for the fall 2019 semester at the University of Kansas. They are:

Mara Cunningham, Ellsworth, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Grant Gwinner, Ellsworth, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Gloria Strong, Holyrood, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Trey Fink, Wilson, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

The students, from KU’s Lawrence and Edwards campuses and the schools of Health Professions and Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas, represent 84 of 105 Kansas counties, 46 other states and territories, and 43 other countries.

Area students receive degrees

Three Ellsworth County area students are among the 921 who completed associate, bachelor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University in the fall 2019 semester. They are:

Ellsworth: Danica Lee Uhl, a Master of Science in education administration.

Wilson: Megan Nicole Zelenka, a Bachelor of Science in general science.

Dorrance: Kadie Martha Martin, a Bachelor of General Studies.

The university conferred graduate degrees (master’s and education specialist degrees) on 248 students, bachelor’s degrees on 648 students, and associate degrees on 25 students. Thirteen students graduated with two degrees.
