Wilson Communications awards scholarships to area students

Each year, Wilson Communications awards at least two scholarships to students in each of its seven communities it serves and last year, with its expansion into Ellsworth, the company now also offers a scholarship to an Ellsworth High School graduate.

“My grandfather, Paul Grauer, started the program in 1984. Education was always important to him and we continued the program as way of giving back to the communities we serve,” says Scott Grauer, president/CEO of Wilson Communications. “This is just one of the many ways we help support our communities.”

Since the program’s inception, Wilson Communications has selected over 350 scholarship recipients and awarded slightly under $161,000.00. “This year, Wilson Communications awarded eleven, $650 scholarships, Grauer said.

The awards were presented at the recipient’s school award banquets. “I enjoy being able to present the awards and seeing the excitement as these students prepare for their next steps. Our congratulations to all of the 2021 graduates,” said Craig Freeman, vice president/general manager of Wilson Communications.

The 2021 recipients are:

Wilson — Rachel Sebesta, Ellsworth High School and Cooper Weinhold, Kamdyn Thrasher, and Raina Garrard, Wilson High School.
