Several students from the Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School Cross Country team took home medals Sept. 19 following the St. John Invitational at the Stafford Golf Course.

Coach Eric Coonrod said the team performed well, but still has room for improvement.

“For the most part, it worked out alright at this meet, but I, and the team, learned a little about how to work on this strategy over the next couple weeks to know the best approach to run together at league and regionals toward the end of October,” he said.

The Ellsworth High School boys’ varsity, with 74 runners, placed 2nd overall out of seven teams. St. John High School took first place.
