ABILENE — By winning both singles flights, the Ellsworth Bearcats tied Abilene April 16 in team points to win a share of the Abilene High School boys’ tennis invitational tournament.

The Bearcats took first place in No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Ellsworth’s No. 1 singles player Joey Oberle went 2-0, defeating Hays’ Zac Wyse 8-1 and Concordia’s Isaac Bombardier 8-0 before playing Abilene’s Wyatt Davis in the title match. Oberle defeated Davis 8-0 for the No. 1 singles crown.
