BELOIT — After suffering tough losses against Ellis earlier in the week, the Ellsworth Bearcats redeemed themselves Thursday, March 28, by defeating Beloit in a baseball doubleheader on the road.

Beloit got things going early, scoring four runs in the first inning. Soon, Ellsworth answered back, scoring four runs in the fourth inning.

With the game tied seven all, the Bearcats stepped up to the plate in the top of the seventh. Bransen Schulte singled on a 1-0 count, giving Ellsworth the win.

Dayton Davis was the winning pitcher for Ellsworth. Bransen Schulte, Grant Gwinner, Kordel Kriley, and Braden Schulte each had multiple hits for the Bearcats.

In the second game, the Bearcats had a much easier time defeating Beloit, posting a 12-2 victory.

Ellsworth scored in the first inning when Dayton Davis singled on his first pitch at bat, scoring one run.

Players Grant Gwinner, Tristan Soukup and Braden Schulte each racked up multiple hits for Ellsworth. In all, the Bearcats had 10 hits.

Pitcher Kordel Kriley got the win, allowing one hit, two runs and six strike-outs. Davis relieved Kriley, pitching two-thirds of an inning.
